Lauren Elizabeth Raheja :: The Death of Osama bin Laden

I fix my gaze
on the red, yellow, blue and green
geometrical patterns
of our dining room tablecloth
while we listen to the radio: news
about an assassination
in a mansion in Pakistan
through speakers recently repaired
for sonic pleasures (bluegrass, electronica,
Syd Barrett and soul).

Lauren Elizabeth Raheja received a BA in anthropology at Reed College in Portland, OR. More informally, she has studied at Poets House, The Bowery Poetry Club and The Poetry Project in New York City. Lauren has also studied at The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, MN. Her author portrait is by Heidi Howard. https://heidihoward.net
